It was a pretty exciting day today. Got to meet up with all the team and blow the cobwebs out at the Snetterton track. I rode on the Evo 600.. It’s like twice as cold as Phillip island on a bad day…fingers still thawing

ASBK Rd 2 Morgan Park

It was a great weekend out at Morgan Park, weather was good and a big thanks to everyone who came out to the track supporting the event.

Well in race one I didn’t get the best of starts (bit too much power causing a big wheelie) and that set me back where I had to fight my way back to 6th Position. The race was then red-flagged and while we were waiting on the re-start grid my engine overheated and stopped and wouldn’t turn back on. Much pushing and shoving later I was able to start the race from pit lane and in 4 laps worked my way back into 7th position across the line.

Race 2 was a better start and I was up with the front runners but then I missed a gear, ran wide and spent the rest of the race working my way through the field to cross the line in p7 again. Not really the results I was looking for but on a positive note…I didn’t crash YAY!!!

Wildcard Ride weekend

Breaking news…tipping into turn one I was following 2 Kawasaki’s and they almost stopped in the middle of the corner leaving me no where to go. It was the very end of turn one and turns sharply, I had to runoff the track and lost the front end. Ended up bouncing over the ripple strip and broke my ribs, medical won’t let me race anymore this weekend so that’s it. Disappointed isn’t a strong enough word at the moment and I’m really sorry to all those who helped me get here that I’m not able to race… I know that’s racing but I expected better luck than this, a lot of people have put so much time and effort and money into this and some talentless riders riding dangerously took that away, only one lap later the same rider did the same thing to someone else….anyway I won’t go on but thanks again to everyone who helped get me here this weekend and for everyone’s support. I hope for better luck in the future.

To all those that were asking, I was told that there was one Rider punished by having two ride through penalties (riding at 60 km/h through the pits while everyone on track is averaging 160 km/h) during the race, he also got slapped with a further 2 ride through penalties for doing the same thing to another rider the very next lap. Unfortunately this didn’t un-break my ribs and give me a shot at the race but it would have ruined that Kawasaki riders very expensive Australian round and his team would not have been impressed. So there is some justice unfortunately I now have another huge repair bill $$$$ caused by an absolute rabbit twice in one month. Physically though i’m not too bad and hope to repair the bike in time to get some track time at Morgan park ASAP.

Cleared to ride

Got the all clear today from the doctor which means its all go go go for Sam Lambert Racing. I’m feeling strong and keen to get back on the bike. We are heading back down to Phillip Island this Saturday for a 2 day test on Monday and Tuesday to be ready for the WSS over the weekend. Hope to see some of you there

World Super Sport

My healing is coming along nicely and it’s looking good to be back on the bike soon. I go for the final clearance on 12th Feb – fingers crossed. In the meantime I am trying to raise more funds to go towards the entry and other expenses of the WSS round. The medical bills have really depleted the funds. Surgery 2/2/15

Thanks for all the great messages. I have just checked into the Glenferrie hospital in Hawthorne (Vic) for surgery late in the afternoon, I’m in overnight hopefully an early checkout to drive back to Brissy and repair the poor old bike ,Dad did a 600 km return trip yesterday to work on it with Rick Heffernan and dyno it mechanically it’s good still making awesome power with more to come. I can’t wait to get back on it at the Island and test we didn’t get a chance to set up the traction control ,which also affects the suspension set up too , there is a 2 day test on the Monday and Tuesday before the meet if we can afford it after all the surgery and repairs. 3 hour Enduro – Hidden Valley

Flew up to Darwin for the weekend (20th April) to race in the TERRA 3 hour enduro. I teamed up with Chip Parry on a Honda 1000cc loaned to me from Stan Whiting – thanks Stan. This was my first time on a 1000cc and of course I loved it but after 3 hours… (3 x 30 min sessions for me) talk about muscle fatigue!! Got the midnight flight home and collapsed into bed this morning…but only for a few hours. We are moving house and mum had me up mowing lawns and doing dump runs…back to reality.

Chip and I won by the way and it was awesome fun. I’d like to thank Stan for the bike and Traff for letting me stay with him. See you guys for the next round. Cheers Sammy

ASC Round 2 Mallala

Unfortunately I have not been able to get my bike back together in time for this round however it will be up and running for round 3 in June. Will be good to be back on the track and racing hard. Put 27th – 29th June in your diaries and I’ll see you at the track.
